Summary:
Two MS-13 Members are on trial using the federal RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act. The RICO act was designed to be used against the mafia, specifically the “Godfather”. Prosecutors have now used it, and are attempting to use it again to prosecute MS-13.

Analysis:
The FBI's MS-13 National Gang Task Force has used the RICO law since September 2005 against MS-13. Authorities have also used the
Violent Crime in Aid of Racketeering (VICAR) Act, to prosecute MS-13 members. Many investigators are closely watching this trial as it is believed that many details about how MS-13 is organized and operates will be revealed. Msthiteen.com will follow this case closely and provide periodic updates.
