Summary:
A former member of the violent street gang MS-13 revealed in federal court yesterday that he risked his life for nearly two years by working undercover for federal agents and police investigating the group. Noe "Shorty" Cruz, 25, testified in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt that he wore a wire two or three times to gang meetings. During one of those meetings, gang members played a videotape showing two Prince George's County police officers and a federal agent and spoke of killing an officer, Cruz testified. Cruz also said that he tipped off investigators about which gang members' homes should be raided, that MS-13 members robbed prostitution houses and that gang leaders sent money to MS-13 leaders in El Salvador. This could help the government to prove MS-13 is an internationally-connected criminal enterprise, rather than a neighborhood street gang.
Analysis:
Having MS-13 designated as an internationally connected criminal organization as opposed to a local gang could impact the way MS-13 is combated and prosecuted by law enforcement officials. Obviously having a source inside the organization wear a wire like Cruz did could prove to be invaluable. Hopefully law enforcement officials continue to recruit and use disenchanted MS-13 members to turn evidence like law enforcement officials have done in the past in penetrating and combating the mafia. Not only can specific MS-13 tactical intelligence be gained from an inside source, but more importantly, strategic intelligence important to long term MS-13 operations such as gang size, hierarchy, structure, specific members and funding information both here in the U.S and abroad.

To the disenfranchised youth of Aboriginal and metis descent here in Canada ,the allure of the MS 13 is possibly becoming an inspirationiol tool to band together and combat through violence against percieved and unperceived enemies .
Fact remains the roots of the two cultures are distinctly different they do remain the same on some levels and to not only combat the establishment the invitation to lucrative money enforced with violence is growing small roots in Canada and this is their window to become a force a voice against the establishment in a society where many of them still feel alienated from society .
I say this due to the fact that my comment is not hypothetical it stands to become a serious problem with many youths living in the shadow of MS 13 one metis aboriginal Gang born from the ashes of Northern Ontario CAN is Wolfcraft and it can fizz out or Grow in the Shadow of MS 13 .
Just one example of the Huge Shadow of MS 13 All due respecte
