Summary:
According to a recent US federal indictment, MS-13 members, Saul Antonio Turcios Angel, AKA “Trece”, Dany Fredy Ramos Mejia, AKA "Sisco", and Rigoberto Del Transito Mejia Regaldo, AKA "Ski." directed US criminal activities. These activities included two murders. They are all currently in prison in El Salvador. Turcios Angel is awaiting trial on an attempted murder charge. While in his cell Angel apparently ordered by phone two killings in Maryland. Ramos Mejia is serving 16 years for having weapons of war, attempted robbery and kidnapping, and Mejia Regaldo is awaiting trial on a murder charge. While the three have been indicted by the US they will not be extradited because the US and El Salvador have no extradition treaty.

Analysis:
Msthirteen.com has asserted for quite some time that a loose MS-13 leadership was emanating from the prisons in El Salvador see these postings:

Questions that remain to be answered are how the leadership functions? How do they enforce discipline throughout an international organization? How does the leadership receive funds, etc? Msthirteen.com will be watching this development very closely looking for answers to these questions.
